The day I brought my daughter home from the hospital, I buried her identical twin sister. That sentence holds more weight than I can put into words, and it’s the foundation of everything I understand about grief, love, and learning to keep going when your world has been split in two.
I specialize in working with caregivers because I’ve lived that role and I know what it costs.
Caregivers are constantly judged for reaching a point where they need outside help or simply can’t do it all anymore. I want every caregiver I work with to know that making that decision is an act of courage and love. There is no right way to care for others and no one gets to tell you how you should feel about the choices you’ve made to get through each day. That philosophy extends to every client I see. I don’t walk into sessions with an agenda for how your healing should look. I help people process what they’re carrying in a way that’s true to them because grief and healing don’t follow a universal script.
I also work with teens 15 and up and adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief, stress, and life transitions.
You don’t have to be in crisis to start therapy. Sometimes you just need someone to listen before it becomes one. Clients tell me that talking with me feels like a weight has been lifted and that I’ve helped them believe in themselves again. My goal is never to tell you what to do. I want to help you reconnect with the strength you already have.
My family encouraged me to pursue social work because they’d watched me advocate and fight for the people I love my entire life. So I went back to school, earned my degree, and found my calling. My motto is “You are the driving force of your destiny and the author of your own story.” Nobody else gets to write your ending.
If you’re nervous about starting, therapy is more than just talking. It’s about discovering parts of yourself you may have lost touch with and finding a path forward that feels good to you. You don’t have to carry everything alone. You never did.
